50 GHz directly-modulated injection-locked 1.55 μm VCSELs

Abstract

The resonance frequency of several 1.55 μm VCSELs is enhanced from 7 GHz up to ∼50 GHz with the optical injection locking technique. This is the highest value reported for directly modulated lasers.
