Abstract

Thirty years ago, 1980, the scientific society “Gesellschaft für Informationsverarbeitung in der Landwirtschaft (GIL)“ at the Technical University Munich, Faculty of Agriculture, Weihenstephan, was founded. The following overview gives the background of this foundation and the activities in the last 30 years in the field of plant production.
