Abstract

2-Hexanone (CASRN 591-78-6) is an industrial solvent that has been shown to cause neurological effects, specifically peripheral neuropathy. Inhalation is the primary route of exposure in an occupational setting; however, exposure can occur via oral and dermal routes. In the environment, 2-hexanone is not expected to adsorb in suspended solids or bioconcentrate in aquatic organisms.
