Abstract
Ultrasonography in renal transplants is used to recognize local complications and to differentiate them from acute rejection. Routine follow-up ultrasonic examinations were performed in Klinikum Großhadern since December 1978 in 72 patients. 22 local complications were revealed (3 urinomas, 4 hydronephroses, 4 hematomas, 1 imminent rupture, 8 lymphoceles, 3 wound infections). They underwent surgical or urological treatment. Routine follow-up examinations by ultrasonography in the early postoperative period is therefore indicated.
