1×12 VCSEL Array at 1.55 μm for high-bandwidth at metro-range

Abstract

For a monolithically integrated 1×12 VCSEL array a per-channel bandwidth of 10 Gb/s over 20 km of standard single-mode fibre (SSMF) is demonstrated. The emission wavelength is addressable by current-tuning without any bit-error-rate (BER) penalty.
