Abstract

Considering that arch shaped tunnels are often selected in tunnels constructed in saturated rock, but the existing analytical method for seismic analysis is only applicable for circular and rectangular tunnels, the deep arch tunnels in homogeneous saturated rock were studied. The undrained, drained, no-slip and full-slip conditions were taken into account. The governing equations of liner and ground subjected seismic shear wave were derived by using conformal mapping method. Then, analytical solution for seismic response of deep arch tunnels in saturated rock was proposed. By comparing the results of the analytical solution with the finite element simulation results, the correctness and applicability of the analytical solution were verified. Finally, a series of parameters analysis was carried out by analytical method, and the effects of relative stiffness ratio between ground and liner, drainage conditions of ground and liner thickness on the seismic response of deep arch tunnel in saturated rock were studied. The results show that with the increase of the relative stiffness ratio, the internal force response of the tunnel decreases, while the displacement response increases. When the stiffness of ground is large, the effects of relative stiffness will be negligible. The internal force and displacement response of the tunnel under drained condition are smaller than those under undrained condition. The increases of the liner thickness will significantly change the bending moment and axial force response of the tunnel, but the effects of the thickness of liner on the maximum stress and displacement response of the tunnel are negligible.
