Description

The TUMKolleg is a nationwide unique cooperation project between the Technical University of Munich, the Otto-von-Taube-Gymnasium Gauting (OvTG), and the Werner-Heisenberg-Gymnasium Garching (WHG). Since the 2009/10 school year, high-performing and talented students in mathematics and science have received intensive and individual support in the MINT subjects (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology) and English in an independent upper school course. In the TUMKolleg, a maximum of 15 selected students per school year are taken to the Abitur in a separate upper school course. While they are taught in high school according to an in-depth curriculum and with particular forms of teaching and learning, they take part in selected courses at the university. They are involved in research projects at various chairs. A unique feature of the TUMKolleg is the organizational and content-related intertwining of research and learning, which means that it is anchored at the interface between school and university.
