Simulation-supported design planning in an urban development context, under consideration of energy and climate aspects

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Decisions made in the early design stages of urban planning not only have a high relevance in terms of effort and structure for subsequent planning phases, but also have a significant influence on the energy and indoor climate quality of the buildings. However, these aspects are neglected or not considered in sufficient detail in the early planning phases. As part of this research project, the urban planning, computer-aided design platform "CDP // Collaborative Design Platform" is to be expanded to include additional components for determining the energy quality of the buildings as well as their interior qualities through interdisciplinary cooperation. The overarching goal is the urban planning, energy and climate optimisation of local planning projects in the early stages of design.
