Optimierung der mutterlosen Ferkelaufzucht durch gezielte Exposition zu maternaler Keimflora

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The project aims to develop targeted, practical, and non-invasive methods to expose artificially nursed piglets to the microflora of healthy sows. The goal is to optimise rescue-deck rearing with respect to intestinal development, lung maturation, and the establishment of a robust immune system. Particular emphasis will be placed on mucosal immune defence in the respiratory tract. The resulting data will also be used to formulate practical recommendations for conventional rescue-deck systems, ultimately improving outcomes in motherless rearing.
