Description

The International Doctoral Programme ‘Research Laboratory Space’ was carried out by TUM in cooperation with ETH Zurich, TU Vienna, TU Berlin, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology KIT and the Institute for Regional and Urban Development Research in Dortmund. The 2017-2020 curriculum started in March 2017 under the leadership of Professor Dr. Udo Weilacher (Landscape Architecture and Transformation) and was dedicated to the overall theme of ‘Crossing Borders - Activating Spaces’.

The three-year doctoral programme offers outstandingly talented participants the opportunity to engage in an interdisciplinary and cross-border exchange on issues of high social relevance relating to space. Using concrete case studies on ‘Crossing Borders - Activating Spaces’, academic exchange was encouraged and independent, original scientific contributions were promoted. Accompanying courses and guest lectures by renowned experts provided in-depth theoretical, methodological, design and communication knowledge.
