Project Details
Description
The project InnoLab-N tries out innovative teaching settings: Participation and the acquisition of competencies shall enable students to be the shapers of a sustainable future. In order to determine the effectiveness of the interventions in schools, we developed a specific evaluation, which will spot the approaches that can serve as models for schools in the future.
Layman's description
Participation and the acquisition of competencies are necessary to create the basis for a society capable of thinking and acting in a sustainable and responsible way.
To foster the understanding for sustainability already in young people, the project InnoLab-N, a sub-project of Wirkstatt Nachhaltigkeit, tests out innovative learning settings in schools. By introducing the students to problem- and project-oriented work through interventions, InnoLab-N enables students to actively shape their learning processes and environment. Thus, they also acquire transformational competencies. While trying out new learning locations and environments inside and outside of school, they benefit from new formats of learning support and performance assessment, such as e-portfolio work and agile methods. Within the project, the participating schools set themselves individual goals based on the OECD Learning Compass 2030.
In order to determine the effectiveness of the interventions, the working group ForSynZIB at the Professorship of Learning and Instruction developed a specific evaluation concept: The goal is to find out, which approaches can serve as models for schools in the future by measuring the subjective learning success of the students.
