Description
The “Food BaySP workshops -Adding value to agroindustrial by products”will be an opportunity for researchers from Bavariaand São Paulo to discuss the main topics related to the value addition of agroindustrial by-productsfocused in the food industry, including exploration of different sources, characterization and functionality of ingredients, product development and processes for obtaining ingredients from different agro-industrial by-products, among others.
The workshops shall focus on themes already studied by thedifferent researchers in the Food Engineering and Technology fields, both from Bavaria and São Paulo State and will be an unique opportunityto favor collaboration between institutions.
Two workshops are planned to be organized in September of 2024 and 2025, the first one occuring in Campinas (São Paulo) and the second in Freising (Bavaria), each one comprising a 3-day schedule. The program of each event will be similar, involving lectures from the coordinators and mentors, as well as oral/poster presentation of all participants and a visit the the host institution facilities. In Campinas, a visit to CNPEM (Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials) may also be scheduled, depending on their availability
