Project Details

Description

In this project, we are working with the Wissensfabrik to develop a teaching module in which secondary school students investigate and explore the potential influence of artificial intelligence approaches for a liveable city of the future. Building on experiences and interests from the students' everyday lives, they use low-threshold technologies (hardware and programming tools) from artificial intelligence. This enables an action-orientated and in-depth examination of and (critical) reflection on the functioning, impact, and application of AI systems, particularly the interaction of technological functioning with people and society and topics such as sustainability, efficiency, the environment, and energy. The central feature is the simulation of a real traffic system using a model intersection with toy cars, a programmable traffic light system realized with the help of a microcontroller, and cameras with image recognition capabilities.
