Prof. Danzl (*1961) is an art historian, restorer and building conservator researching on "material" in art and architecture. His focus is on material iconography and illusion, material technology and ageing, non-invasive in-situ analyses and preventive conservation. 

Training in Conservation of Murals and Architectural Surfaces, studies in art history, building conservation Florence/Udine, doctorate Regensburg. Leading positions at LfD Saxony-Anhalt, BDAVienna. Honorary professor, full professor as well as dean HfBK Dresden. Since 2018 at TUM.
