Scientific Career

The main research interests of Prof. Lames are training and performance analysis with a primary focus on game sports by using tools, methods and concepts of computer sciences. Another focus lies in talent research.After studying sports, mathematics and philosophy and earning his PhD at Mainz University, Prof. Lames acquired his postdoctoral teaching qualification (habilitation) in sports sciences at Kiel University in 1997. Prior to being appointed to the Chair of Movement and Trainings Sciences at Augsburg University (2002-2009), where he headed the sports institute from 2004, he held a professorship position at Rostock University from 1997 to 2000. Since October 2009 Prof. Lames has been holder of the Chair of Training and Computer Sciences in Sport at TUM.
