Scientific Career

Prof. Zanderighi is an internationally recognised expert in the field of collider phenomenology. This theoretical discipline investigates elementary particles and their fundamental interactions, using mathematical methods and calculations. These play a central role in particle physics: the greater the precision with wich theoretical physicists calculate the behaviour of elementary particles, the more information can be deduced from the data obtainable in accelerator experiments.

Prof. Zanderighi was born 1974 in Milan. She studied physics at the University of Milan and earned her doctorate from the University in Pavia. She pursued her career as a postdoc at the IPPP in Durham and Fermilab in Batavia. 2005, she became a fellow in the theoretical department at CERN, followed by a position as a lecturer at the University of Oxford and Tutorial Fellow at Wadham College in 2007. 2010 she was a Professor of Physics at the University of Oxford. 2019 she became a director at the MPP and in 2021 she became TUM Professor.
