Abstract
The paper is following from a decision of the geotechnic professors which research and teach at the German speaking Universities of Technology (RWTH Aachen, TU Berlin, Ruhr-Universitat Bochum, TU Braunschweig, TU Cottbus, TU Darmstadt, Universitat Dortmund, TU Dresden, Universitat GH Essen, Universitat Kaiserslautern, Universitat Karlsruhe (TH), Universitat GH Kassel, TU Munchen, Universitat der Bundeswehr Munchen, Universitat Stuttgart, Hochschule fur Architektur und Bauwesen Weimar, Bergische Universitat GH Wuppertal, TU Graz, Universitat Innsbruck, TU Wien, ETH Zurich) and dealing with the actual discussion about the status and the importance of goetechnical engineering within civil engineering.
