Abstract
The importance of social behavioural attitudes to ventilation of private dwellings was examined. The type and duration of ventilating systems, the frequency of ventilating periods and heating patterns are important factors. Daily and seasonal patterns are also stressed. The influence of ventilation by windows on the air change, the consumption of heating energy and user behaviour are considered. Relationships between ventilating conditions and heat energy consumption are discussed. (from authors' abstract)
