Abstract
Dwellings with a low specific heat energy requirement will acquire greater significance in the future. The authors point out special technical building and heating measures which apply in the planning and construction of such dwellings. With the help of daily heat requirement charts they highlight special thermic properties of highly insulated buildings. They describe the operation of a specific electrical heating system in a highly insulated prefabricated hose - the 'Schwoerer' City House. This heating system consists of a home ventilation plant - including heat exchanger laminae and a small air/air heat pump for reclamation - to supply the basic heat requirements. Peak heat is supplied by special heat storage units; their construction includes the benefit of controllable direct heating. Based on a comprehensive analysis of the heat requirement and with the aid of a calculation model, the authors determine the characteristics of the annual, monthly, daily and hourly power requirement. This, in turn, leads to the necessary power evaluation and economy of the electrical heating system under investigation.
