Abstract

In recent research projects a variety of concepts have been developed to integrate traffic signals in connected vehicle environments. This paper presents an overview over arising chances and challenges taking into account three different but closely interrelated viewpoints: the functional, the organizational and the technical viewpoint. A case study of a truck platoon management currently developed is presented to highlight these viewpoints.
