Abstract
We present the development of a robust numerical method for the implementation of a continuum dislocation-based model of length-scale dependent plasticity. The model is naturally embedded in a continuum-mechanics framework which enables application of mechanical boundary conditions. The size effect is due to the bowing of continuously distributed dislocations. Results of the first application of this model to a two-dimensional problem are presented.
