Abstract

Our exploration group at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) has investigated the dynamic stability of Life Support Systems (LSS) on a system level since 2006 and builds on an even longer LSS heritage. The main body of this investigation was the development of the "Virtual Habitat" (V-HAB) dynamic LSS simulation software. In its final version, V-HAB shall provide the possibility of conducting dynamic simulations of entire mission scenarios for any given LSS configuration. The paper shows how goals and concepts introduced in past years translate into the actual simulation introducing the four main modules of V-HAB.
