N2 - NEVONEX (Robert Bosch GmbH, 2019) is a core technology for future agricultural value chains. As a smart, neutral, open and quality controlled framework for end-to-end infrastructure, it helps to improve compatibility between different agricultural machinery. Additionally, NEVONEX fosters the flow of data in-between machines and towards cloud systems and therefore farm management information systems and back. It was released by the Robert Bosch GmbH at the AGRITECHNICA trade fair in Hannover, Germany, in autumn 2019. The roll-out process for the US market starts in 2021. In the meantime, the technology is tested on different stakeholder-owned research farms and at universities. This paper presents the concept for an impact assessment of the NEVONEX technology to agriculture, which will be carried out as a Ph.D.-project at the Technical University of Munich. The work provides information about the components of the NEVONEX ecosystem, namely hardware devices and software, like libraries or a development environment. It also talks about the value and experiences, these components bring to stakeholders like farmers, agribusiness companies and their developers. Furthermore, it is discussed how the NEVONEX technology relates to the AEF ISOBUS standard and other initiatives like IoT frameworks and ISOBUS related edge devices mounted on farming machinery. Finally, the methodology for carrying out the impact assessment and the expected results will be shown. It is expected that the adoption of NEVONEX will bring multiple benefits to farmers, agribusiness companies, developers, and 3rd party stakeholders throughout the whole value chain.
