Abstract
A literature review on the occurrence of terpenes in European and tropical fruits is given with particular respect to mono-, sesqui- and triterpenes. Among them geraniol, farnesene, limonene and phytosterols are treated as examples. Tables on the present knowledge on the quantities of individual terpenes in fruits close the review.
