Abstract
Information is the central tool for planning. Processed in a Location-Information-System they are the basis for marketing of industrial real estates and are therefore the engine for actions, reactions and decisions. It is a valuable service of modern institutions of business development for companies to support the location decision. On the basis of tabular or spatial information presented by a GI-System you get the possibility to find logical and comprehensible reasons for or against a decision in this complex process. Previous Location-Information-Systems work with a central concentration of data on one server while the future is an interoperable system with distributed data on different servers.
