Abstract
Flashback in gas turbine burners is a highly transient flame propagation process. Different optical measurement techniques have been applied to investigate this phenomenon. Intensified High Speed Video recordings and a special optical flame sensor have been used to investigate the flame dynamics. Steady and unsteady flow has been measured by a Laser-Doppler-Anemometer. The laser induced fluorescence of the OH-radical was applied to visualize reaction zones. With the simultaneous use of these techniques a substantial database for the investigation of the flashback causes was generated.
