Abstract

In the research project described here, investigations were conducted concerning methods for the modelling of the mechanical clamping element properties in commercial simulation software. The suitability of various model approaches was evaluated on the basis of a practical application and the effort for modelling and computation was investigated. This article presents three model approaches which provide three different solutions for the same problem. In this regard, the measured distortion behaviour is simulated with differing quality. Especially concerning the model complexity, big differences can be observed which result in varying computation times.
