Abstract

Despite the trend of rising electrification in automotive engineering the electrical power net has to provide a stable power supply for all electrical components. Based on investigations on a power net test bench and a dynamic power net simulation tool this paper identifies the main factors that influence the voltage stability. While doing so, the physical values of battery and alternator are focused. Furthermore, a sensitivity analysis examines the impact of the interaction between the single factors on the voltage behavior of the whole system. Thereby, the alternator's power, the battery's state of charge, capacity, and temperature are elaborated. It is pointed out that a significant voltage drop can be induced only by the mentioned physical values. The results of the sensitivity analysis can be used to enhance the electric power net and to achieve voltage stability.
