N2 - Market trends of the last two decades showed a high demand for customer innovated products. The production of individualized batch-size-one products requires a production planning and control (PPC) paradigm shift. This paper therefore provides an insight into requirements for PPC of customer innovated products. Customer-specific order processing, an approach to time and capacity planning as well as an adaptation of flexible-batch-size production are furthermore explained. At the end, a prototypical industrial implementation based on a household appliance manufacturing company is illustrated.
