N2 - Right handed neutrinos with masses below the electroweak scale can simultaneously explain the lightness of the neutrino masses via the seesaw mechanism and the baryon asymmetry of the universe via leptogenesis. We study how their properties, such as the mass spectrum and flavour mixing patterns are constrained based on the requirement to explain both phenomena. If any heavy neutral leptons are discovered in the future, it will be possible to use these constraints to assess whether these particles are the common origin of the light neutrino masses and the baryon asymmetry of the universe.
