N2 - The modern power electronics physical simulation reduces the system design time and accelerates the implementation phase. Physical simulation models on component-level, mainly for efficiency prediction, for a submodule of a 17 level cascaded H-bridge inverter are introduced and validated by measurements. The simulations are done using physical models in Simscape and LTSPICE to consider the dynamic waveform of the switch-on and switch-off of the power MOSFETs. Finally, the efficiencies of the H-bridge inverter, calculated at different operation points using physical simulations, are close to the power analyzer results.
