Abstract

Investigations carried out all over the world show that hydrogen storage onboard of a vehicle is extremely irrational. This causes the interest in independent sources of hydrogen onboard of a car. One method of onboard hydrogen generation is the electrolysis of water using centrifugal forces. On the basis of thermodynamics and kinetics the main features of electrolyte's behavior while exposed to centrifugal fields are considered from a theoretical as well as practical point of view. The principles of electrolysis in artificial centrifugal fields and, in particular, opportunities of practical realization of electrochemical decomposition of water by means of a centrifuge due to mechanical energy of its rotation are investigated.
