N2 - This paper covers a parametric research study on the use of simulation models with center of gravity location errors in the design of adaptive neural network controllers. In this study a helicopter simulation model is developed along with an inner and outer loop cascade architecture flight control system, commonly found in literature. The center of gravity location is varied to severe values to observe adaptation characteristics to investigate the requirement on the knowledge of the center of gravity location during such adaptive controller design.
