Abstract

We report on a 74-year-old woman suffering from a necrobiotic xanthogranuloma and a Borrelia burgdorferi infection as well as a diabetes mellitus. Necrobiotic xanthogranuloma is an entity which is clinically characterized by yellowish-red plaques and histological findings of necrobioses within xanthogranuloma in dermis und subcutis. The lesions are preferentially located on the upper trunk and the periorbital region. The presence of paraproteinaemia is necessary for the diagnosis of this skin disease.
