Abstract

The information exchange rate on the chip has developed into a bottleneck for high performance integrated circuits. On-chip and inter-chip wireless ultrawideband (UWB) multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) communication is a promising approach to overcome this bottleneck. For MIMO systems with near-field coupling of the antennas, we have to account for reciprocity. Hence, a full multiport-model is required for a correct description of the antennas. Circuit theoretic multiport concepts account for the physical properties of electromagnetic fields under consideration of reciprocity, impedance matching and energy transport. In this work we present an approach to investigate simple MIMO antenna configuration consisting of a set of antennas and scatterers.
