Abstract

A model-based monitoring system is being developed. The concept allows an autonomous identification of different failures. In this paper, a reduced simulation model based on admissible shape functions is presented. It is restricted to faults without impacts or stick-slip-effects, but it is numerically more efficient. Additionally, the test rig in the undamaged state is examined with experimental modal analysis and the bow of the rotor is measured. The model-based monitoring is successfully tested for several failures at a rotor test rig. The amount of the failure is correctly identified, so this system gives useful information for evaluating the condition of the rotor.
