Abstract

A model-based development concept of hybrid systems in forming technology will be introduced in consideration of usability for process engineers. This is achieved by the combination of an activity diagram and block diagram for hybrid behavior. This concept supports process engineers to execute different series of experiments on the same machinery to gain and explore variable material characteristics of thermo-mechanical forming in a familiar environment. The integration of a closed loop control library which is directly generated from a Simulink model allows to build-up a hybrid system, where the graded properties of the thermo-mechanical process can be adjusted by the process engineer in a simple way. Recent evaluation in Project SFB/TRR30 showed the practicability of this concept.
