Abstract
A finite element based micromechanical model on the grain level is developed to describe the material behavior of ferritic-martensitic dual-phase steels on the basis of microstructural and phase specific properties. The topology of the microstructure is modeled by Voronoï tessellation and appropriate coloring algorithms. The effect of the topology of the microstructure and the strength ratio of the phases on formability is discussed in comparison with experimental results from tensile tests and hole expansion tests performed with an industrially produced dual-phase steel.
