Abstract

Anions as guests in electroneutral host compounds that have no Lewis acid character—this has been achieved for the first time. The borane–amine adduct 1 functions as host, and examples of guests are Cl, I, and CN. Prerequisite for the supramolecular inclusion of the anions is the exact preorganization of the strong BN dipoles. X(CH2) 6− (Figure Presented.)
