Abstract
Hole burning in dimethyl-s-tetrazine-doped n-octane leads to very sharp, perfectly Lorentzian antiholes. Their splitting depends on the magnitude of the intramolecular rotational tunnel frequency of the methyl groups in the ground and optically excited states. From the width and the Lorentzian line shape of the antiholes, interesting details on inhomogeneous line broadening can be inferred.
