Abstract

In the research project LINDA, a concept for local island grids with decentrahzed energy resources was developed. In the follow-up project LINDA 2.0 this concept is supposed to be transferred to mobile generators, used for auxiliary supply applications in the low voltage grid. A mobile generator cannot absorb reverse power flows. Therefore, the mobile generator was equipped with a load bank in order to allow the infeed of renewable sources during the island grid operation. Before the use in the real low voltage grid, this modified mobile generator was tested and optimized in a living lab. The tests in the living lab showed that the island grid operation of the modified mobile generator with the infeed of decentralized energy resources is possible and the power quality standards can be fulfilled. In some situations, during the tests, oscillations in the system frequency and vohage occurred. Measures to prevent the oscillations were tested and their influence observed.
