Abstract

For the purpose of MMW-Imaging different setups can be considered. When active sensorics are applied the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) concept is often used, since real apertures would require large dimensions in order to obtain the required resolutions. The resulting images show different characteristics, depending on shape and position of the synthetic aperture. The UTD-theory is suitable to consider the different scattering contributions of an object separately. In order to obtain a reconstruction result similar to an optical image the acquisition of the specular reflections seems to be important. Different imaging setups are evaluated with respect to the resulting images of objects that can be modeled using UTD-theory.
