Abstract
A method for the infection of Norway spruce by Armillaria under defined conditions is described. The joint culture of seedlings and Armillaria rhizomorphs on a Spbagnum‐Perlite substrate under a controlled light‐dark and temperature regime guaranteed a high yield of infections, which became visible in the root system within 6 months. The localisation of the fungus was achieved by means of immunofluorescent techniques using anti‐Armillaria antibodies raised in rabbits.
