N2 - In this paper two of the most extensively used high performance control strategies for electrical drives as Field Oriented Control (FOC) and Direct Torque Control (DTC) are compared to a new Predictive Torque Control method (PTC). Same commutation and sampling frequency are taken into account in order to compare these techniques. Preliminary results verify the excellent performance of the predictive strategy both in transient and steady state.
