Abstract

For the dynamic calculation of a tunnel-soil-structure-interaction the Finite Element Method (FEM) is coupled with the Integral Transform Method (ITM) in this paper. By superposing fundamental solutions of the ITM (half-space, full space with cylindrical cavity, full space with spherical cavity), a semi-analytical solution in the frequency-wave number domain for a half-space with cylindrical and spherical cavities, longitudinal trenches and localized excavations is derived, which results in wave number flexibilities obtained at the boundaries. By coupling these flexibilities with the FEM arbitrary and complex structures of the tunnel respectively trench and the building can be modeled. Thus it is possible to carry out predictions of vibrations for the complete Emission-Transmission-Immission-System.
