Abstract

Application of the intelligent mobile lab (IMOLA) as a cell based assay for use in environmental monitoring is shown. The modular hardware architecture, the software structure of the system and the signal processing from environmental parameters via cellular metabolism, electrochemical microsensors and electronic circuitry to a server application are described. An experiment where yeast cells are consuming glucose is shown. The results are summarized and the further developments are presented.
