There is too much soil erosion on two-thirds of Bavaria's cultivated area. An Atlas der Erosionsgefahrdung in Bayern shows the problem. Fields are bigger: there is more grain and root growing: up and down hill ploughing has not been reduced sufficiently. Ecological considerations are not enough taken into account. -D.J.Davis
