N2 - An increasing environmental awareness, stricter legal requirements on emissions, the prospect of a scarcity of fossil resources and an increase in individual mobility of modern society facilitate the development of more efficient vehicles in the future. In order to optimize the electric machine design, the machine efficiency, which strongly correlates with the thermal behavior of the machine during operation, needs to be considered. Therefore, real driving data is obtained and investigated in this paper in order to isolate the effect of the stator temperature on the efficiency of an electric machine.
