N2 - Despite conceptual foundations and visions of a circular economy, manufacturing companies still struggle to successfully transform themselves accordingly. With the goal of supporting future research in developing targeted solutions to enable corporate actors in their transition, this work aims to illustrate the current state of research on circular transformation pathways in the manufacturing industry by means of a systematic literature. In result, five clusters are identified, leading to a multi-step transition model and pointing out existing approaches and selected future research needs.
