Abstract
The design and realization of a parallel microcomputer system based on microprogrammable microcomputers, for application in on-line simulating the ″rolling contact″ -problem are presented. The requirements with respect to speed are solved by allocation of independent tasks to several simultaneously working processors, using bipolar technology, LSI multipliers, 32 bit fixed-point numbers and implementation by microcode. To meet the severe programming and testing requirements, a firmware support system including a microassembler was developed on a direct coupled service microcomputer. The hardware modularity and shared control store result in a very good cost/performance ratio.
